St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church- design by cyberM·I·N·D·
In 1961 Bishop Alexander Zaleski of Lansing purchased fourteen acres of land on West Centre Street that would eventually become the complex of St. Catherine of Siena parish church. On August 10, 1966, St. Catherine's was identified as a mission church and on August 28th, the first Mass was celebrated in the Portage central Junior High gym with Fr. James Schmitt as the first Pastor.

Founded in 1953, St. Tom's in Kalamazoo, MI is composed of
students, faculty, college and university personnel from Western
Michigan University, Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo Valley Community
College, Davenport College and the Kalamazoo Center for Medical
Studies as well as many permanent resident families... all
joining in spirit-filled celebrations.
